Awards for innovation

The New Farm Equipment Awards are awards of merit for machines, implements or attachments and tools for use in agriculture or other forms of primary production. To be eligible to enter the equipment and materials must either incorporate some new principle or do something new which is of specific benefit to the farmer. The new concept must, to the knowledge of the judges, not have been incorporated in any item marketed at present. Changes of design, construction or arrangement, which do not involve any new working principle, will not qualify for entry.

The awards have been split into four categories: —lmported farm equipment

—New Zealand-made farm equipment —Farm aids and tools —Farm inventions. To distinguish between imported and locally made equipment a per-

centage cost basis on components is used.
