A.I.D.S. prejudice
Homosexuals with the A.I.D.S. virus encountered as much prejudice and fear from their own community as from society at large, the Gay Lesbian Conference was told yesterday. The conference spokeswoman, Ms Jo Crowley, said this was a “real slap in the face" for most people at the conference. In future, the movement would be doing its best to ease the isolation people with the disease often experienced. The Easter conference attracted about 300 people from around the country. Ms Crowley said the conference had supported the inclusion of gay, lesbian and trans-sexual people under the Human Rights Commission Act.
