Cup chance

Special correspondent Auckland The Chalmers Handicap winner, Coshking, was flown to Sydney on Monday, as planned, to strengthen New Zealand’s bid in Saturday’s sAustsoo, ooo Sydney Cup. The son of Pag Asa has pleased his trainer, Howie Mathews, since his gallant front-running performance in the Trentham feature on March 11.

“He came through it really well and it wouldn’t pay to underestimate him in the Sydney Cup,” said Mathews before he departed for Sydney on Tuesday. Coshking has been tried over the 3200 metres twice, with the result being two fourths in the Wellington Cup.
