Week to highlight bicycle visibility

This year’s road safety week will highlight cycle safety in Christchurch. National road safety week is from April 9 to 16.

The Ministry of Transport, will run a campaign on cycle visibility, which, it says, is a serious problem in Christchurch.

Other activities during the week include a parade down Colombo Street and a competition with prizes.

The safety week is being organised by the New Zealand Roadshow Trust, the Metropolitan Road Safety Council and the Christchurch City Council. The trust has also developed a drama on cycle safety that will play to intermediate schools.
