Centre’s grant doubled
Christchurch’s Employment Resource Centre, which provides advice for small businesses, is likely to receive a $30,000 grant from the Christchurch City Council this year. The centre, which offers a range of services to people starting new businesses and acts as consultants for existing businesses, got $14,000 from the council lost year. Seminars are held during the year and consultants prepare business plans for people.
The council’s finance and policy committee has recommended $30,000 be granted this year to cover the salary of one full-time business consultant.
