SCIENTISTS AND ENGINEERS The Building Research Association of New Zealand (BRANZ) has vacancies in its Fire and Structural Engineering Group for suitably qualified Scientists and Engineers. The positions entail carrying out investigative research into fire safety science and technology and into the fire performance of buildings. Other work entails supervising and reporting on commissioned testing programmes. The successful applicants will be expected to provide information on fire matters to the building industry and to prepare publications and conduct seminars. They should also demonstrate an ability to adopt a leading role in fire technology within New Zealand. Applicants should have a degree in Physical Sciences or Engineering (Chemical, Civil or Mechanical) and an interest in research and its application to the building industry. BRANZ is an independent, industry-backed research and testing organisation situated at Judgeford, 30km north of Wellington.
