Reporting to the Stockton Mine Manager, the position is responsible for ensuring, the 7.2 km aerial ropeway maintains high availability, and for carrying out all mechanical engineering, maintainence and supply functions at the mine in a safe and efficient manner. Specific responsibilities include the setting and monitoring of maintenance standards throughout the mine; supervision of maintenance staff; control of maintenance and resulting operational costs; evaluation and justification of necessary capital expenditure items: and to ensure that plant is available to meet production schedules. LOCATION The positionds based at the Ngakawau loadout complex, 35 kilometres north.of Westport. Westport is a township of 7,000 people with a warm comfortable climate, excellent beaches and recreational facilities, good schools and public facilities. EXPERIENCE A minimum of five years supervisory experience in a related position is required, and exposure to metallurgy, maintenance and contracting is desirable.
