Situations Vacant Situations Vacant The Council’s Land Information Department currently has vacancies for one Land Investigating Officer and.two Assistant Land Investigating Officers. The principal responsibility of these career positions will be working with current team members to accurately survey, analyse and advise on the use and management of land related resources of the Wellington Region. based on the development and application of the Wellington Regional Geographic Information System. Requirements for the positions are: Land Investigating Officer A minimum aggregate of six years university qualification and postgraduate experience in science, surveying, engineering geology or engineering disciplines, with emphasis on environment management, land surveying and scientific data analysis using computers. The successful applicant will have proven ability with the use of computer based engineering/scientific methods of anlysis for the solution of problems related to land use and land management. A high standard of project management, job commitment and communication skills will be expected. A salary in the range of $33,500 to $42,200 will be negotiated dependent upon background and experience. Assistant Land Investigating Officer A minimum aggregate of four years university qualification and/or post graduate experience in science, surveying, engineering geology or engineering disciplines with emphasis on environment management, land surveying and scientific data analysis using computers. The successful applicant will have a good academic record in the use of computer based engineering/scientific methods of analysis for solution of problems related to land use and/or management. A high standard of job commitment, time management and communication skills will be expected. A negotiable salary in the range of $26,000 to $33,500, dependent upon background and experience, is being offered. These positions will be located in the Councils Wakefield Street building.
