GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY: f The General Manager is responsible to the Board for the administrative, financial and musical management of the Wellington Regional Orchestra, with particular v emphasis on planning and marketing. He or she will be responsible for the supervision of any staff employed. WHO SHOULD APPLY: Applicants will have a wholehearted commitment to playing a major part in the second stage of the orchestra’s financial and artistic recovery. This will involve identifying, gaining approval for and carrying through management and marketing initiatives. The ideal applicant will be able to negotiate at a senior level with local and central government bodies and major corporate sponsors and users. A knowledge of ballet, opera and orchestral music would be a benefit.
