THE JOHN OXLEY MEMORIAL HOSPITAL BRISBANE AUSTRALIA NURSING POSITIONS Applications are invited for nursing positions for the John Oxley Memorial Hospital. This seventy-five bed public hospital is presently under construction at Wacol in Queensland and will be one of the most modern facilities in the World, offering modern and dynamic treatment and rehabilitation programmes for forensic psychiatric patients. All staff will undergo a full orientation programme and inservice education, nursing research projects will be encouraged. CHARGE NURSE The successful applicant will be required to commence duty in April 1989 prior to the completion of the hospital's construction and will be involved as a team leader in the orientation and training of nursing staff in the care of forensic psychiatric patients. QUALIFICATIONS: Possession of a psychiatric nursing certificate registrable with the Nurses Registration Board of Queensland. At least three (3) years experience in psychiatric nursing including at least one year in an acute psychiatric area. Applicants must possess an up to date knowledge of psychiatric nursing and ability to function as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. Preference may be given to applicants with both psychiatric and general nursing certificates and a degree or diploma relevant to the position. REGISTERED NURSES The successful applicants will be required to commence duty in May 1989, direct to a four (4) week orientation programme. QUALIFICATIONS: Possession of a psychiatric nursing certificate registrable with the Nurses Registration Board of Queensland. Applicants must possess an up to date knowledge of psychiatric nursing and ability to function as a . member of a multidisciplinary team. ENROLLED NURSES The successful applicants will be required to commence duty in May 1989, direct to a four (4) week orientation programme. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to be enrolled as an Enrolled Nurse with the Nurses Registration Board of Queensland.
