Labour Judge named

PA Wellington A Wellington lawyer, Mr Tom Goddard, will become Chief Judge of the Labour Court in September after the retirement of Chief Judge Jack Horn. Mr Goddard will take up his duties in the Labour Court in Wellington on May 1. He will take over as Chief Judge on

September 2, said the Minister of Labour, Mr Rodger. Judge Horn, who headed the Court since it began in 1987, is leaving because he has reached the compulsory retirement age. Mr Goddard, aged 51, has practised as a barrister and solicitor in Wellington since he was ad-

mitted to the Bar in 1962. He has been a president of the Wellington and Districts Legal Employees Union (1964), and a member of the Law Society standing committee on accident compensation since 1980. Mr Goddard has taught law at Victoria University and Wellington Polytechnic.
