SIL appoints fund manager
The SIL Mutual Fund (Superannuation Investments, Ltd) has announced that Australian investment management group, Armstrong Jones, has been appointed to take over the management of SIL funds. Armstrong Jones will assume responsibility for SlL’s administration and marketing in addition to the investment management. Superannuation Investments chairman, Mr Peter Buddle, said that he was pleased that a fund manager as experienced as Armstrong Jones was making a longterm commitment to the New Zealand economy.
He said Armstrong Jones was located in all Australian capital cities, and the company has in excess of SNZ3 billion under management. It manages property, equity, and fixed interest trusts. “Superannuation is an area which is crucial to the future of every New Zealander. We are delighted that Armstrong Jones is prepared to enter our investment market despite the current uncertainty surrounding the superannuation industry in New Zealand,” Mr Buddle said. Superannuation Investments is New Zealand’s longest established private superannuation fund beginning business in 1959.
