CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL IN accordance with the provisions of the Dog Control and Hydatids Act 1982 the Christchurch City Council has prescribed the following fees to be paid for dogs required to be registered In the district for the registration year commencing April 1, 1989. DOG CONTROL FEE IF PAID Before April (a) After April 30 (Includes $20.00 penalty) (b) 1. Entire dogs (a) $45 (b) $65 2. Neutered dogs (subject to production of a veterinary certificate) 1 (a) $4O (b) $6O NOTE: "Neutered dog means any dog which has been speyed or castrated but does not include dogs which have been vasectomlsed.” 3 Guide Dogs as certified by the New Zealand Foundation for the Blind (a) Nil (b) Nil 4. Hearing Ear Dogs — subject to certification by the Hearing Association on a special form obtainable from the Council. (a) Nil (b) Nil 5. (a) Where a dog Is of the age of 3 months or less the application to register shall be made on or before the dog attains the age of ' 3 months. (b) Where any dog is required to be registered under Clause s(a) on or after the Ist day of May in any year, the fee payable shall be one twelfth of the annual fee for each month remaining in the registration year after the date of such requirement. (c) Where the fee for the registration of any dog for any year Is paid and the dog dies before the commencement of or during that year, the Council shall refund, upon written request, In the case of a dog that dies before the commencement of the year, the full fee paid, and, in the case of a dog that dies during the year the appropriate part of that fee. The part fee refundable shall be one twelfth of the annual fee for each complete month remaining in the registration year after the date of application for the refund is received. (d) A refund of part of the basic registration fee for a dog may be claimed during the registration year if the dog is subsequently neutered and a veterinary surgeons certificate in respect of the animal produced. 6. The following concession has been approved by Council:— Selected Owner:— For a person granted Selected Owner status by this Authority before December 31, 1988, the fee to register a dog is reduced by $5.00 provided the dog is registered before April 1, 1989. Otherwise the full fee will be required to be paid and the owner will lose Selected Owner status. 7. The following charges are prescribed for the above registration period:— (a) Charge for issuing a replacement disc or label $2. (b) A licence to keep 3 or more dogs — New Applications $35 — Renewals $l5 (c) Collars — Large $7 — Medium $6 — Small $5 Choker chains and leashes are also available for sale at the counter. 8. Any application to register a dog must be made on the form provided by the Council and signed by or on behalf of the owner. Copies will be posted to all known dog owners in March. 9. Details necessary: (1) Name and address of the owner of the dog. (ii) Address at which the dog is ordinarily kept. (Ill) Description of the dog Including the name, breed, colour, age, sex (and whether the dog is neutered or not) (iv) A description of any tattoo or other permanent identification on the dog. 10. A statutory declaration is necessary In respect of all claims made under subclause s(c). Declaration forms can be obtained from the City Health Department, Civic Offices, 163 Tuam Street. 11. The Dog Control and Hydatids Act 1982 provides that every person who owns a dog shall make an application to the Council in whose district the dog is ordinarily kept, to register the dog not later than April 1 in every year. 12. Where an unregistered dog is purchased or other- ’ wise acquired, the application to register the dog shall be made forthwith or before the date on which the dog attains the age of 3 months, whichever is the later. 13. No dog shall be deemed to be registered until the appropriate fee has been paid in full and a receipt and disc issued. 14. No fees are payable in respect of transfers of ownership or change of address but notification in writing of such change Is necessary within 14 . days. 15. All fees charges and prices are inclusive of GST. Registration may be effected at the City Health Department, Civic Offices, 163 Tuam Street, Christchurch, as from MONDAY, MARCH 6, 1989, OR BY MAIL IF PREFERRED, AS THIS WOULD AVOID YOU STANDING IN LONG QUEUES AT THE COUNCIL OFFICES.
