Lewis under fire

NZPA-AFP London A former Olympic sprint champion, Allan Wells, has launched an astonishing attack °" the United Stat« Seoul Games gold medallist, Carl Lewis. Wells blasted the American star for his constant criticisms of athletics and insinuations that certain athletes were on drugs. “Lewis should stick to singing Gods praises and concentrate on keeping his own nose clean,” raged the Scottish veteran, who struck Olympic gold in Moscow nine yenra ago. I wouldn’t be surprised if one day his halo slips and chokes him, because he’s not the most popular of athletes. He s constantly riding his snowy-white chariot against drugs. Wells called for the International Amateur Athletic Federation (I.A.A.F. ) to demand proof from Lewis for his drug-taking accusations or discipline him.
