TVNZ to launch new pop show
PA Wellington TVNZ’s new popular music programme will be called “C.V.”
The first major new pop show to be launched by TVNZ in some years, “C.V.” will screen on Sunday nights on Two from April 2. Production planning for the show is already well under way. The nation-wide search for presenters has attracted almost 1000 applicants. The two presenters for “C.V.” will be announced in March.
The award winning film maker, Murray Reece, is working on the opening titles at Gnome Productions in Wellington and lan “Tex Pistol” Morris has been commissioned to write and produce the theme music. “C.V.” will feature video clips, live performances, studio guests, tour and record information, music lifestyle feature items, competitions and more.
A TVNZ spokesperson said the name “C.V.” could mean something such as “choice video” but may mean different things during the course of the show. The spokesperson said the organisers just liked the sound of “C.V.” and stressed it did not mean curriculum vitae.
