The main focus of the work will be to Investigate the present state of the stormwater systems, including channel flow and reticulation, and prepare overall catchment management plans. The initial work will be within the existing urban area and with one third of the reticulation within areas subject to thermal ground and sulphur attack, all alternatives will need to be investigated. The work will involve assistance with the detailed Investigation into the appropriate hydrological standards to be established throughout the whole district. Future work will involve the establishment of land drainage plans to areas of future residential development. The position therefore calls for a registered engineer with initiative, experience in land drainage and a desire for an ongoing career in investigation, design and construction.
