Chch dates for Princess Anne

The Princess Royal’s visit to New Zealand will include attending four special events in Christchurch. Princess Anne will be in New Zealand between February 28 and March 6 and details of her itinerary were released yesterday by the Prime Minister, Mr Lange. She will be in Christchurch on Sunday, March 5, and Monday, March 6. On the Sunday evening she will attend a combined Civic Save The Children Fund reception in the Limes Room at the Christchurch Town Hall. Her itinerary on March 6 includes attending an Order of St John and nursing cadets display in the city, and an hour with students at Hiilmorton High School. The school’s principal, Mr Ward Clarke, said the school was “thrilled to bits” with the news of the Royal visit, and a tentative programme had been sketched. “I understand the Princess wants it to be a practical visit to a working school rather than

everybody lined up. We will be arranging a programme to accommodate this and I want as many students as possible to meet her.” Hiilmorton High School has 1070 pupils on its roll. Princess Anne’s schedule also includes an hour visit to the R.N.Z.A.F. Museum at Wigram, of which Prince Charles is patron. During her week-long visit to New Zealand Princess Anne will also visit Auckland, Wellington, Dunedin, Wanaka and Cromwell.
