Sunday trader to be charged

A cycle shop which opened on Sunday, January 29, for eight hours will be prosecuted by the Labour Department, a department official said yesterday. The shop could be fined

up to $lOOO for the breach of shop-trading legislation. A South Island labour inspector, Mr Keith Moran, said the department had received one written complaint and several telephone calls

about the cycle shop trading on the Sunday. A clothing shop which also opened for business the same Sunday would not be prosecuted because no complaints had been made, he said.
