John Ogier, of Kaiapoi, launches his international marblehead model yacht in the Kaiapoi River during the Waitangi Day carnival yesterday. Mr Ogier is a member of the Kaiapoi Model Yacht Club, which was formed in June, 1987, and bases its activities on an artificial lake in an old shingle pit just north of the Kaiapoi township.
