Police on case of burnt bunny
NZPA-PA Bristol Detectives yesterday investigated the case of the exploding rabbit. They believe the burnt bunny is linked to arson attacks on vehicles near Bristol. The rabbit’s carcase was spotted by a patrolling policeman early yesterday near the village of Failand.
When he stopped his car to move the animal it burst into flames a metre high.
Forensic examination revealed the carcase had been filled with "an accelerant,” a Bristol police spokesman said later.
“We believe it could be linked with three vehicles being burned out between Failand and the Hartcliffe area of Bristol during the night.”
A car was heard to drive away about the time of each fire.
