Charles Nero ready to win again tonight

Special correspondent Dunedin

Charles Nero is in winning form for the second heat of the Anngow Motors Four-Year-Old Championship at the Forbury Park Trotting Club's meeting tonight.

Charles Nero was a three-length winner in a C 5 race at Addington last week. He was also successful at the Canterbury Park New Year meeting. His Weedons trainer, Jack Smolensk!, brought Starwin Boy south for the later nights of the series last year. He finished second to Ankorman on the second night and won the final three nights later.

Willem Vink, another newcomer to the series, ran third to Cardinal Star and Hoosemedad at the Canterbury Park meeting.

Timber Liner and Wood Chip, the minor placegetters behind Blue Innocence over 2700 metres on the first night, will attract support. Cardinal Star, which finished fifth, would need to improve very little to figure in the finish of the 2200 metre heat.

The speedy Finest Hour is favoured over a mile in the second leg of the T.A.B. double. He was fifth after leading at Addington on Monday night. Jeka, which finished third to Haughty Nugent and Fiddler on Monday, is also likely to be prominent.
