Knight Invader on target

Knight Invader is on target to win the feature metric mile at the Southland Waitangi Day meeting for the second time after his impressive win in the DB Draught Handicap at Omakau yesterday. Knight Invader missed the start, as usual, and settled 11 lengths from

the pacemaker, Shy Di. He was still seven lengths from the lead at the 400 m. He stormed home to win by half a head from Admiral’s Flight, which was just ahead of him in the running. Knight Invader, raced

by Jennifer Jones, Rosie Thomson and Rosanne O’Connell, of Riverton and trained there by Angus Mavor and Bev Morris, had not been successful since he won the feature mile at the Southland February meeting last year.
