Bay of Plenty meeting abandoned
PA Tauranga Heavy rain forced the Bay of Plenty Racing Club to abandon its meeting at Tauranga yesterday. The club’s president, Peter Simmonds, said the committee was at the Gate Pa course at 6.15 a.m. and made the deci-
sion to abandon the meeting by 6.50 a.m.
Surface water on the track, which would have made racing dangerous, was the committee’s main concern. The club is now trying to arrange to have the meeting next week, possibly on Thursday.
