Shipping news
The Spirit of Competition and the Spirit of Freedom, roll-on roll-off vessels, owned by Pacifica Shipping, are both in the Port of Lyttelton for a spruce-up. The Spirit of Competition, which runs between Lyttelton and Wellington, is in dry dock for maintenance and engine overhaul. Sister ship Spirit of Freedom will also undergo refurbishment. The company’s general manager, Mr Rod Grout, said both ships would be in port until January 10 for general overhaul. “We like to keep our image smart, so both ships are being done up for the new year,” he said.
