PA Wellington The Canterbury assault for its eleventh consecutive national women’s cricket Hansell’s Cup title continued yesterday when it thrashed Auckland by 120 runs.

Canterbury batted first at Te Whiti Park and made 171 all out in 52.5 overs. Auckland struggled to only 51 before being dismissed. Rain stopped play for two and a half hours in the middle of Canterbury’s innings and left the wicket damp and slow. The top scorer for Canter--bury was Maia Lewis who made 33 in her first game of the tournament. Canterbury has not lost a game in the series and has the maximum six points.
