New Danish Consul

A new Danish Consul has been appointed for the South island excluding Otago and Southland. He is Dr Jorgen Schousboe and he succeeds Mr Peter Skellerup, who held the post as Honorary Con-sul-General since 1964. Dr Schousboe came to New Zealand in 1973 and worked at Christchurch Hospital until leaving to open the Wainoni Medical Centre in 1976.

The consulate will be at the medical centre. Dr Schousboe also was among six city doctors who founded the after hours surgery at the Bealey Avenue clinic. He is a member of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners. His wife, Dr Mona Schousboe, is head of the Canterbury Hospital Board’s microbiology department.
