Fire-bomb attack wakes up couple
PA Masterton A couple in Featherston were woken by the sound of a Molotov cocktail crashing against their bedroom wall, the police said. The man was able to beat out the flames and hose the area before the fire could spread. There was only minor damage to the outside of the house.
A second Molotov cocktail failed to ignite. The fire-bombs were made from milk bottles. The couple, in their early 30s, were not harmed in the attack, at 3 a.m. Detective Ken Millward, of the Masterton C. 1.8., said there had been no arrests, but the police were following a “reasonable line of inquiry.”
