Electorate backing
PA Wellington The Manurewa Labour Electorate Committee has told the Prime Minister, Mr Lange, that it still supports its local member of Parliament, the sacked Minister of Finance, Mr Roger Douglas. The committee secretary, David Millar, said the Manurewa L.E.C. held a special meeting on Sunday and passed the following resolution: “The Manurewa Labour
Electorate Committee confirms its support for Roger Douglas as member of Parliament for this constituency and expresses grave concern at the developments which have led to his removal as Minister of Finance. “We believe that the decision made represents an astonishing reward for a man owed much by this country and the Labour Party.”
