Youth team to tour
PA Wellington A New Zealand Youth cricket team is to make a five-week tour of Australia this summer.
The itinerary has not been finalised but the tour is likely to involve three four-day test matches, three one-day internationals, and a number of other games. The tour will be sponsored by Brierley Investments Limited as part of its ongoing support for youth cricket in New Zealand. The New Zealand Cricket Council chief executive, Graham Dowling, said the invitation from the Australian Cricket Board was most welcome.
“For a time it looked as if we wouldn’t have any international cricket for our young players this summer despite strenuous efforts to arrange something with Australia, India, and Pakistan.”
