Mogul ski-ing at Olympics
NZPA-Reuter Vienna Mogul ski-ing and short track speed skating are among five new events approved for the 1992 Winter and Summer Olympic Games by the executive board of the International Olympic Committee. Both freestyle mogul skiing (over bumps) and short track speed skating (on Illmetre oval track) were demonstration events at the Calgary Winter Games in February this year. The 1.0.C.’s director of in-
formation, Michele Verdier. said that women’s biathlon, mogul ski-ing and short track speed skating for both men and women will be contested in the 1992 Winter Games in Albertville, France. Added to the programme for the Summer Games in Barcelona will be the women’s 10km walk and women’s single-handed dinghy sailing. Badminton, baseball and women’s judo were earlier approved for inclusion as new events in the Barcelona Games.
