Drama won awards
“Shadowlands,” which stars the British actors Claire Bloom and Joss Ackland, and features in Television One’s “Mobil Masterpiece Theatre” at 8.10 on Sunday evening, has already won eight international awards. Included in its list of honours are two British Academy Awards, One to Claire Bloom, as Best Actress, and one to the film itself as the Best Single Television or Film Drama. It has also taken American television’s top accolade by winning the International Emmy as a Best Drama. In the Prague Film Festival it took out the top award for Best Film Direction, and in Germany won the Jury and Participants Prize at the International Christian TV Week in Mainz. At the American Film Festival it won the Red Ribbon Award, took out the Silver Agel Award, in Los Angeles, and the Chris Award at the Columbus Film Festival.
