The Service has recently been restructured to provide information, skill assessment and referral services to enhance the quality of the match between job seekers and vacancies. This newly created position is accountable to the General Manager, New Zealand Employment Service, for the establishment, maintenance and review of a comprehensive personnel management function to support recruitment, retention, training and development, performance measurement and assessment, and remuneration of a workforce that is best able to achieve the objective of the enterprise. The preferred appointee will have proven leadership and strategic planning skills in the area of personnel management. The preferred appointee will have a demonstrated commitment to an open management style as well as a proactive attitude toward Equal Employment Opportunities and the Maori Perspective. The preferred appointee will have conceptual and analytical skills and the personal confidence to articulate argument and debate Issues in a regional or national forum. The preferred applicant will have had several years experience in negotiating industrial awards and agreements. PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH OF NEW ZEALAND EDITOR THE PRESBYTERIAN DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNICATION is seeking an Editor, Written Word, to be responsible for editing the Presbyterian-Method-ist monthly newspaper CROSSLINK and for the production and co-ordination of other print publications and material for the Presbyterian Church. The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic self-starter with wide experience in writing and reporting, subbing and layout.
