We are a major timber merchant in Fiji involved in the treatment, kiln drying and processing (trusses, moulding, components) of indigenous hardwoods and softwoods for both the domestic and export markets. A three-year expansion programme is now being planned and the successful candidate will be responsible to implement this. He will be skilled in general management, experienced in finance, budgeting; in addition, a strong background in timber processing and yard control are essential. The candidate will have direct responsibility for yard management and day-to-day operations and will be expected to continue the training and development of the supporting local management team. The timber sector of the Fiji economy is one of growth, and the incumbent must be able to expand existing export markets as well as retaining the domestic-based business. Package is negotiable covering base salary, superannuation, housing, vehicle, relocation expenses and return airfares with 4 weeks annual leave. Initial contract is for 2 years.
