PA Wellington Venture Pacific has reported a profit of $140,000 for the six months ended September 30, a sharp turnaround from its $760,000 loss for the first six months of the year. The result was down 95.1 per cent down on the previous
corresponding period, but total revenue for the listed investment company rose 35 per cent to $1,443,000. During the latest period the company had expanded its short-term cashflow through investments in Omni-Pak (NZ), a plastic film manufacturer, and Gibson's Wines and Spirits. The company had also entered the Australian shortterm mortgage lending market, and the effect of these investments would be apparent in the next calendar year, the directors said.
