Botham arrested
NZPA-PA London An English cricket star, lan Botham, was arrested after an incident involving a hotel security officer. He was arrested by Metropolitan police at a Kensington hotel after they received a complaint about an incident at another hotel in nearby Knightsbridge. Scotland Yard decided to take no action.
He was taken to Chelsea police station in connection with an allegation of assault on a security officer at the Sheraton Park Tower.
"The alleged victim had only minor injuries, so the matter was treated as a common assault, which means the complainant and the accused exchanged addresses. It’s up to the person concerned. He may mount a private prosecution.”
