Experienced staff
Added together, the combined years of tyre experience gained by Kevin Newport and his staff comes to almost 45. Kevin was previously employed by a major tyre distributor for 10 years, five of those in Nelson, before he was transferred to Christchurch by the company, five years ago. He has also worked as a motor scraper and truck driver, during which time he developed a keen interest in equipment tyres. And he is a former racing colleague of Trevor Crowe. The two spent time racing on the Nelson beach together some 14 years ago.
Ray Reid’s experience
started in retreading 20 years ago, and during his working career he has been with all the major tyre distributors. Ray’s specialist area is wheel aligment and lower half servicing.
John Glen has been in the tyre industry almost 14 years and has worked for most of the major distributors. His specialty at Newport Tyre services Ltd is tyre fitting and fleet servicing.
Kevin’s wife Liz is responsible for reception, office and administration work for the company. The couple are soon to be joined in the business by their son, Barry.
