Lilies arrive

The early flush of Christmas lilies arrived as predicted this week and came flooding on to the floor in great volumes.

Some of the lilies were being sold in opened blooms, while others remain tight budded, so prices can vary. Carnations, alstroemeria, balm and stock were available in greater volumes, meeting a slow demand.

Spray, standard chrysanthemums, gladioli and daisies were also coming forward in bulk.
