Woman set up ‘fund’
PA Wellington A woman, aged 19, and her friend opened a bank account in the name of a fictitious scholarship fund so they could cash a stolen cheque for $44,000, the District Court in Wellington was told.
Judge Jaine remanded Roseanne Cecelia Monica Leota to January 16 for sentencing when she pleaded guilty to theft as a servant and using a document to obtain a pecuniary advantage on October 5 and November 1.
