Pacing field takes shape
NZPA-AAP Melbourne. Invitations have been posted for next Saturday’s sAustl 50,000 Australian Pacing Championship at Moonee Valley in Melbourne and New Zealand’s Luxury Liner will be at the party. The connections of Luxury Liner have indicated they will accept the invitation providing air transport can be arranged.
Other pacers selected include the former New Zealanders, Our Maestro, Morgan James, which defeated Village Kid in a match race in Perth recently, and the Queensland pacer, Happy Sunrise.
Others included in the nine-horse field are Thorate, representing Tasmania, Robber John, representing South Australia, and
Rowleyalla, representing New South Wales.
Sir Reilly became the second Bob Knight-trained Victorian runner in the field, along with stablemate Our Maestro, when he led throughout to win last Saturday’s A.G. Hunter Memorial pace at Moonee Valley, easily beating Another Bart and Quite Famous.
