Speedway death

PA Auckland An Auckland woman was killed at the Meremere Speedway on Saturday when the sidecar on which she was a swinger dug into the track and she was catapulted over the top. She was Giovanna Tuinman, aged 26. She was fatally injured when she and her rider, Gavin Wallace, also of Auckland, crashed. She was competing in her first season and had proved competitive as a duo with Wallace, placing second in the first race of the afternoon. Wallace escaped from the crash unscathed. Racing was held up for half an hour until another ambulance arrived
