Baby boy for M.P.
PA Wellington The member of Parliament for Island Bay, Ms Elizabeth Tennet, gave her parents the perfect fortieth wedding anniversary present yesterday — their first grandchild. Ms Tennet gave birth to a healthy 4.11 kg baby boy early Sunday morning at Wellington Women’s Hospital. Matthew James is the first child of Ms Tennet and her husband, John Galvin. She started maternity leave at the end of October and plans to return to Parliament in mid-Febru-ary. She hopes to keep Matthew at work with her for three months before
Mr Galvin takes six months leave to care for him. Ms Tennet has been campaigning for childcare 'facilities at Parliament.
