Building ready in 4½ months
Just four and a half months after the foundations were laid, the staff moved in to the new Noel Leeming’s Head Office, on the corner of Montreal Street and Moorhouse Avenue. That’s fast work for a building this size. The two storey complex
comprises 13,500 square feet of office and administration space on the first floor; the ground floor contains 3000 square feet of showroom, 1200 square feet for car audio sales and installation, a 9000 square foot service department
and an 8500 square foot bulk store. The general manager John Cooper oversaw construction and says it all flowed together reasonably smoothly within a tight time-table. The complex was designed by architect Richard
Proko. Design engineer for the project was Alan Reay and the major construction and fit-out contractor was Construction Development Co. Ltd. “We are all very pleased with the finished product,” says Mr Cooper.
