Accountant foundation chairman
PA Hamilton A Hamilton accountant, Mr Peter Shaw, has been appointed the new chairman of the Neurological Foundation. Mr Shaw, a senior partner in the accountancy firm Coopers and Lybrand, has been involved with the foundation since it started in 1971. He replaces Mr John Seabrook who retired as chairman this year because of ill health. The foundation is a private sector group which funds research into brain and nervous system disorders. Mr Shaw said the foundation faced a challenging time because of tax changes and falling interest rates. A renewal of public support in the foundation was needed so its work could continue.
