Award to FCL The New Zealand Society of International Analysts has awarded its best communicator award for 1988 to Fletcher Challenge. The annual award is made to the company that the society considers has best communicated information to financial analysts. The assessment is based not only on the annual report, but also on interim reports and any other information released. This is the third year in a row that Fletcher Challenge has won the award. Lonhro adviser Australian businessman, Mr Robert Holmes a Court, is advising Lonrho chief executive, Mr Roland Rowland, on his defence against a possible take-over bid by Mr Alan Bond, the "Guardian” newspaper reported. The newspaper said Mr a Court, whose business empire ended mainly in Bond Corporation’s hands after last year’s stock market crash, was seen leaving Lonrho headquarters in London after a meeting with Mr Rowland. Diploma course Wellington’s Victoria University will introduce a Diploma in Financial Mathematics from 1989. The postgraduate Diploma in Financial Mathematics will be jointly funded by the university and the life insurance industry. It will be taken either as a one-year full time or two-year part time course. Goat flight AEL Corporation, Hamilton based livestock exporter, has airfreighted 150 Angora goats to Bulgaria. The company has been working on the market through its subsidiaries, Animal Technology (N.Z.) and New Zealand Semen Exports. The company said it was the largest single sale of goats to leave New Zealand and the first to leave for Eastern Europe.
