Public Notices CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL RAISING OF ELECTRICITY DEVELOPMENT LOAN 1988 PUBLIC NOTICE Is hereby given that the Christchurch City Council, at an Ordinary Meeting held in the Civic Offices, 163 Tuam Street, Christchurch, on. Monday the 21st day of November 1988, passed the following resolution: That in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Local Government Act 1974, and the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956 and all amendments thereto, and all other Acts in that behalf enabling, the Christchurch City Council hereby resolves, by way of Special Order, to proceed to raise in New Zealand a loan to be known as the Electricity Development Loan 1988 — $4,000,000 subject to the following determinations: (1) The purpose of the said loan is for the provision of electricity capital works. (2) The amount of loan is $4,000,000. (3) The maximum term for which the said loan or any part thereof may be borrowed shall be 20 years. (4) Interest rates and maturity dates shall be determined by the Deputy General Manager and City Treasurer and the Deputy City Treasurer according to authority delegated by Council. (5) The loan or any part thereof, together with Interest thereon, shall be repaid by any of the following methods of repayment: (a) By equal aggregate annual or half-yearly instalments of principal and Interest. (b) By annual payments to a sinking fund in respect of this loan, or any Issue thereof at a rate of not less than 1.17 per cent per annum of the amount for the time being borrowed and not repaid (other than any part being repaid pursuant to sub-paragraph (a) of this clause). (6) The Council hereby appropriates and pledges a special annual recurrlngrate of 0.015912 cents In the dollar on the capital value of all rateable property In the City of Christchurch. (7) No Interest, Instalment of principal and interest or payment to a sinking fund shall be paid outside New Zealand, or out of loan money except as provided in Section 33 (1) of the Local Authorities Loans Act 1956. (8) Commission or fees may be paid in respect of the raising of the said loan, or any part thereof as the Local Authorities Loans Board may determine from time to time. (9) Such other determinations of the Local Authorities Loans Board as are applicable. It is hereby further publicly notified that the foregoing resolution will be submitted to an Ordinary Meeting of the Council to be held in the Civic Offices, situate as aforesaid, at 6.00 p.m. on Monday the 19th day of December 1988, for confirmation as a Special Order. A full copy of the resolution is held at the office of the Deputy General Manager and City Treasurer, Civic Offices, and Is now open to the inspection of the public, without fee, during office hours from 8.30 а. to 4.30 p.m. Monday to Friday. A poll of electors is required to be taken, If not less than fifteen per cent (15 per cent) of the electors of the City of Christchurch so demand In writing under their hands, delivered or sent by post to the Christchurch City Council and received at the offices of the Council, 163 Tuam Street, Christchurch 1 (P.O. Box 237) not later than 9.00 a.m. on Monday, December 19, 1988. Where a demand for a poll of electors Is made, every person who signs the demand shall state against the signature the person’s name and address with sufficient particularity to enable the person to be Identified as an elector. JOHN GRAY General Manager and Town Clerk CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL CHRISTCHURCH CITY BYLAW NO. 1198 (1988): FIRES (SAFEGUARDS AND CONTROLS) NOTICE is hereby given that the Christchurch City Council, at an Ordinary Meeting held in the Civic Offices, 163 Tuam Street, Christchurch, on Monday, the 21st day of November, 1988, passed a resolution to make a Bylaw, the title of which will be “The Christchurch City Bylaw No. 1198 (1988): Fires (Safeguards and Controls).” The purport of the Bylaw is to enable the Council to Impose a total ban on burning in the open air at any time of the year, where such a ban is necessary for fire safety reasons. The foregoing resolution will be submitted to an Ordinary Meeting of the Council to be held in the Civic Offices, at б. p.m. on Monday, the 19th day of December 1988, for confirmation by way of Special Order. A full copy of the Bylaw Is deposited at the Department of City Administration in the Civic Offices and is open to the inspection of the public, without fee, during office hours from 8.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m., Monday to Friday.
