Ballet walk-ons wanted

Ten Christchurch people have the chance to appear in the Royal New Zealand Ballet’s production of “Romeo and Juliet” next month. The company is using five men and five women from each of the centres on its national tour for walk-on parts. For the Christchurch season, which runs from December 7 to 10, the auditions will be held at the Southern Ballet in the Arts Centre at 6 p.m. on December 6. The production requires five

mature women, minimum height of 162 cm, four men of minimum height 178 cm, and one older man who could be shorter, minimum height 167 cm. No dancing ability is necessary but some stage experience would be an advantage. The applicants should apply in writing to The Director, Romeo and Juliet Casting, The Royal New Zealand Ballet, P.O. Box 6682, Wellington. They must be available for all performances.
