Tea House Yangzhou: One of the oldest and most famous cities in China, Yangzhou has one of the oldest and most famous teahouses, the Rich Spring Restaurant. Fifty chefs are employed to make more than 100 types of buns and cakes. They use just under a ton of flour every day. They serve an average of 8000 customers a day. Tengboche (Sacred Bull) is a Sherpa Monastery in Nepal which looks out on to Mount Everest and was founded by a Tibet Buddhist sect centuries ago. First seen by Westerners in 1950 the monastery and its surroundings’are now the subject of the mixed blessings of tourism. Sir Edmund Hillary has been associated with the monastery for 26 years, initiating the building of adjacent schools helped by funding from Canada. This documentary follows the building of a new school there by Hillary’s group who include his brother Rex and volunteers from New Zealand, America and Germany. 2.00 THE STORY OF ENGLISH. 2.55 MR BELVEDERE. 3.20 MONTY - IN LOVE AND WAR. In 1941 Bernard Montgomery, a relatively unknown General and one with no experience of desert warfare assumed control of the Bth Army in North Africa and crisply set about restoring the army’s flagging morale in the wake of constant defeat at the hands of Rommel. Montgomery’s official biographer Nigel Hamilton presents this profile of the man. 4.40 ATLANTIC COLLEGE - ONE WORLD. The United World College was established by Louis Mountbatten in 1967 to promote international understanding and peace through education. There are seven colleges in different countries.
