Car-chase in city
A vehicle was chased by the Ministry of Transport from Bealey Avenue to Farrington Avenue, Bishopdale, yesterday morning. The Trans Am car was noticed by a Ministry patrol car as it appeared to lose control turning into Bealey Avenue about 9.45 a.m. It failed to stop and was chased down Bealey Avenue, Rossall Street, and on to Wairakei Road, where it was cut off by another patrol car at the intersection of Farrington Avenue. A spokesman for the Ministry said several vehicles were overtaken during the chase although high speeds were not reached. A man appeared in the District Court yesterday afternoon in relation to the incident.
