Wool growers warned
The chairman of the Wool Board, Mr Pat Morrison, yesterday warned wool growers not to become complacent about the present confidence in the industry. The recent acknowledgment by the Prime Minister, Mr Lange, of the importance of the export sector was a positive step and gave hope to all export industries, said Mr Morrison. But there was still a long way to go and many changes were needed in the Government’s policies before the rural
sector was back squarely on its feet. I Mr Morrison told the Dominion meat I and wool council of Federated Farmers that pressure needed to be kept on the ■ Government. He urged the Prime Minis- - ter to back up his reassurances to the s export sector with positive policies. The present wool season could be less turbulent than those of recent years and > reasonable prices had already been ’ received by growers, with the market 1 reaching a record level.
