The Te Rapa site is situated just north of Hamilton, and is the largest manufacturer of wholemilk powder in the world. Its quality products and processing systems are recognised as leaders in the industry. Having overall responsibility for the effectiveness and efficiency of a large laboratory is just one of the key tasks associated with the role. Other tasks include being involved in engineering-related projects, systems development and maintenance for quality improvement, as well as the important function of staff training, motivation and development. As an integral member of a young, resultorientated management team, the Technical Services Manager will have outstanding communication skills across a wide variety of people. A proven track record in a production/ engineering/food environment and strong financial management and project skills are essential. An Engineering or Technology degree in a relevant discipline would provide the successful applicant with the necessary technical background required.
